Description
The Alliance developed a new finance model via a workgroup (https://techdocs.ed-fi.org/display/GOV/Finance+Work+Group) and that model and API (https://techdocs.ed-fi.org/display/GOV/ED-FI+RFC+18+-+FINANCE+API) has been operationalized in one state with others considering or in earlier stages of adoption.
The newer work was framed strongly around capture of a chart of accounts and dimensions on that, and was tested via its ability to address newer ESSA financial reporting,
We are considering bringing that work into the core model and removing the older model. However, we want to ensure that use cases or data elements supported by the older model can continue under the newer model.
For example: the older model had elements for Payroll and ContractedStaff not in the newer model.
The task is to increase parity from the older model to the newer one: propose and make changes that will make a transition easier for those using the older model.
AC:
- Review new and old model and determine best way to port things from the old into the new that was not included in the new version.
- List of proposed additions to the new model to allow for parity with the old model.
