Description
MN has just began collecting student ancestry information like Asian.Hmong as an extension under SEOA (StudentEducationOrganizationAssociation.AncestryEthnicOrigin).
The same request is coming from WI that they need to collect this information to determine education equity gap. This is not a federal requirement but a state requirement. The Federal Standard does not capture this yet.
It was brought to our attention that Hawaii is required to collect this information as well but Hawaii is not an Ed-Fi state.
MN has created validations to capture incorrect combinations of Race Category and Ancestry data. WI is planning to do the same for the 2022 school year.
Can we accommodate this in our data standard?
