Section Model Updates as a result of 2022-23 Analyses of Use Cases

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

Data Standard team has collected feedback from the community members relating their new use cases of the Section model. Some of these use cases are multiple course offerings, credit recovery, no one-on-one match between program and section. These newly presented use cases required a review of the Section model in the Ed-Fi core. After a long and careful analysis of each use case and simultaneous communication with all groups of Ed-Fi community members, data standard team produced eight iterative proposals for requested changes in the model.

After almost two years of analyses and communications with the community members, Ed-Fi data standard team has decided to move forward with the eighth iteration of section model update proposal which implements all use cases (except the grading related issue for recurring students in the same section due to insufficient evidence for the widespread of the use case) in the minimal disruption manner to the current implementation of the model.

Action: Please implement the Section Model Updates (by creating MODL ticket) as recommended in the proposal version eight attached to this ticket.
