Capture Remote Learning Time

Use Case -
LEAs must report % of scheduled instruction for students enrolled in brick and mortar schools and reported as non-AOI that is Distance Learning. AZEDS does not need to log minutes but will need to report the % of scheduled instructional time that is DL.

• Reported % will be used to adjust funding for non-AOI students in accordance with
Executive Orders, which state that distance learning shall be funded as AOI

• Report this at the 40 day cycle as well as at the end of the year.

AZ DOE requires their LEAs to report Distance Learning Percentage in two ways.
1. Report overall % for all students OR
2. Report the % individually for categories of students that are assigned unique funding weights to determine the overall percentage.

We are taking into consideration both sets of students. Students participating in DL only and Students participating in Hybrid. AZ DOE confirmed that the instruction minutes are the actual minutes (vs planned or intended) that a student was in DL learning. Currently AZ DOE has extended StudentSchoolAttendanceEvent to capture Instructional Minutes for all AOI (Arizona Online Instruction) Students.

Actions needed:

3. Please develop a model to capture the Student Level Instruction Minutes. Do we need an extension on StudentSchoolAttendanceEvent to capture the aggregate instructional minutes information?
4. Let us make sure the model we do for state requirement works for districts also.
