Description
Summary of outcomes for Data Standard 3.0
- Problem Addressed: Prior to v3.0, the School reference on Section was being merged with CourseOffering.Session.School, defeating the purpose of including a separate School reference (which is to indicate the school where the section is taught if it's not the same as the school offering the section).
- High-level Reasoning: A section may be taught in a different school than the school offering the section (CourseOffering.Session.School). By providing the context "Location" for the School reference and merging the LocationSchool and Location.School, the model provides the ability to track the school where the section is taught as well as the school offering the section.
- Changes Made: Add context "Location" to School reference on Section. Add merge statements to merge LocationSchool with Location.School. Remove merge statement that merged CourseOffering.Session.School with School.
Original ticket description follows:
Powerschool has noted that the merge on Section on School with CourseOffering.Session.School leads to issues where a section offered at one school is taught at another school.
