Summary of outcomes for Data Standard 3.0

      • Problem Addressed: Prior to v3.0, the PerformanceLevel common type referenced on StudentAssessment did not include the AssessmentReportingMethod. This was inconsistent with the AsssessmentPerformanceLevel common type referenced by Student and did not allow for the capture of performance levels for different assessment reporting methods.
      • High-level Reasoning: In practice, performance by a student on an assessment may be reported differently depending on the assessment reporting method. By adding AssessmentReportingMethod to the identity of the PerformanceLevel common type, student assessment records may be assigned a performance level for each assessment reporting method used.
      • Changes Made: The AssessmentReportingMethodDescriptor was added to the PerformanceLevel common type as part of the identity.

      Original ticket description follows:
The StudentAssessment complex has Performance Levels and Score Results as two separate arrays.  The way that Florida NEFEC (sherodkeen) is using Assessments, the Performance Level achieved is based on the Score Result.

Because there can be multiple Score Results and multiple Performance Levels, it would be beneficial to identify which Performance Level is derived from which Score Result.

One possibility would be to add an optional studentAssessmentPerformanceLevel to the studentAssessmentScoreResult object.  If Performance Levels are derived from Score Results, they could be submitted this way.  If not, they could continue to be submitted in the existing performanceLevels array.
