Summary of outcomes for Data Standard 3.0

      • Problem Addressed: Prior to v3.0, the model did not provide any means for providing detail about the amount of time spent in interventions, which has been reported as a need in the field.
      • High-level Reasoning: By adding a MinDosage and MaxDosage to Intervention and InterventionPrescription, information may be provided regarding the appropriate amount of time to assign for an intervention. Adding Dosage to the StudentInterventionAssociation allows for the capture of the amount of time a student was assigned to an intervention. Finally, adding InterventionDuration to the StudentInterventionAttendanceEvent allows for the capture of the amount of time a student attended an intervention event on a particular date.
      • Changes Made: Two optional references to a new Dosage simple type integer were added on Intervention and InterventionPrescription with context "Min" and "Max". An optional reference to Dosage was added on StudentInterventionAssociation. An optional integer InterventionDuration was added to StudentInterventionAttendanceEvent.

      Original ticket description follows:

Interventions can be measured in "dosage" or the amount of time spent on a particular intervention session with a student.  The appropriate entity for this data element appears to be  studentInterventionAttendanceEvents.studentInterventionAttendanceEvent (as defined in the Ed-Fi ODS API schema).  Currently there does not appear to be a data element available for this information.  Attendance can be recorded only by date which is not a sufficiently granular measure in all cases.  This field can be called dosage, or more generally if less precisely, instructional time.
