Description
Summary of outcomes for Data Standard 2.1
- Problem Addressed: Staff recognition data (such as teacher badges) could be accommodated by adding a reference to the Recognition common type if the annotation of Recognition were generalized to not be student specific.
- High-level Reasoning: The current annotation of the Recognition common type is "Recognition given to the student for accomplishments in a co-curricular, or extra-curricular activity." If this were generalized, a reference to this common type could be added to the Staff domain entity to accommodate staff recognition data.
- Changes Made: Updated Recognition annotation to read "Recognition given to the learner for accomplishments in a co-curricular, or extra-curricular activity."; Added reference to Recognition on Staff domain as an optional collection
Original ticket description follows:
MI TRIG has a use case for teacher badges that could be implemented by a StaffRecognition complex type if the annotation on the Recognition and Achievement complex types were generalized rather then using "student" / "learner" in the annotations.
Replacing "student" and "learner" with "individual" would provide annotations of the Recognition and Achievement that would alllow these complex types to indicate staff recognition as well.
