Description
Summary of outcomes for Data Standard 3.0
- Problem Addressed: In v2.1, the model began to differentiate between staff absences and staff leave events, previously captured together (v2.0 and earlier) in the LeaveEvent entity. A new entity was created (StaffAbsenceEvent) to capture short-term staff absence data separately from leave data. The new entity includes an AbsenceEventCategory descriptor - but no standard descriptor values were defined.
- High-level Reasoning: All core Ed-Fi descriptors should be accompanied by standard descriptor values that may be used.
- Changes Made: The LeaveEventCategory descriptor values were analyzed and any that could also pertain to shorter-term staff absences were added as values to the AbsenceEventCategory descriptor xml file.
Original ticket description follows:
Under Data Standard 2.1, StaffAbsenceEvent has a descriptor called AbsenceEventCategory. See:
http://schema.ed-fi.org/datahandbook-v21/MetaEd-Handbook-Index.html#/StaffAbsenceEvent2695
There is no standard descriptors / sample data for these elements. They need to be created, and they should probably be derived from the 2.0 LeaveEvent.LeaveEventCategory (a type enumeration).
