Capture "current grade" - a grade for a grading period that has not yet concluded

The "current grade" for a student is a computed value in the SIS or in a gradebook in an LMS or other application.  The "current grade" is of great interest to teachers, students and parents since it represents a snapshot of interim progress.

Note an issue with the various implementations is how to reflect the as-of date for the computed "current grade".
