Question: Wondering why Local Neglected Program is and option in the Title I Part A Participant Descriptors under the Student Title I Part A Program Association resource?
Title I Part A is a program that provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.
Title I Part D is a program that provides funds to meet the educational needs of neglected, delinquent, and at-risk children and youth, and assist in the transition of these students from correctional facilities to locally operated programs.
Our assumption is that if a student is defined as Neglected, Delinquent, or At-Risk the student would only get a Student Neglected & Delinquent Program Associations record and not a Title I Part A Program Association record. If this is true, the Local Neglected Program is not necessary under Title I Part A Participant Descriptors and is not needed as it could be assumed if the student receives a Student Neglected & Delinquent Program Associations record. If this assumption is not correct, please provide direction as to how this would report.
