Description
Summary of outcomes for Data Standard 3.0
- Problem Addressed: Many program enrollment subclasses have a set of services offered that are specific to the subclass.
- High-level Reasoning: By removing the Service common type from the base GeneralStudentProgramAssociation and adding it explicitly to the subclasses, specialized services may be accommodated with specialized service common types.
- Changes Made: Remove Service common type from GeneralStudentProgramAssociation and add to StudentProgramAssociation, StudentCTEProgramAssociation, and StudentTitleIPartAProgramAssociation. The remaining subclasses will all receive a custom service common type.
Original ticket description follows:
During discussion of DATASTD-1162 "Expand federal program capture to drive state standardization and reduce field fragmentation", it was noted that some specialized programs have custom lists of services.
Therefore, the Service common type will be removed from GeneralStudentProgramAssociation base class and added directly to each StudentProgramAssociation subclass, except in cases where a specialized Service common type has been created to house a new service descriptor with the customized values.
Program associations with reference to standard Service common type:
- StudentProgramAssociation
- StudentCTEProgramAssociation
- StudentTitleIPartAProgramAssociation
Program associations with reference to a custom Service common type:
- StudentMigrantEducationProgramAssociation
- StudentLanguageInstructionProgramAssociation
- StudentSpecialEducationProgramAssociation
- StudentHomelessProgramAssociation
- StudentNeglectedOrDelinquentProgramAssociation
- StudentSchoolFoodServiceProgramAssociation
